Warakurna Artists Paintings
Western desert marvels
What better way to describe the artists from Warakurna!
A small remote art centre located near the Giles weather station in the Ngaanyatjarra Lands of Western Australia, Warakurna Artists has always punched above its weight.
Warakurna shirks a "house style" in favour of bold individuality; every artist has his or her distinct style.
But what can be said to commonly define Warakurna's approach to artmaking is an effervescent luminance. Their paintings sparkle with an irrepressible energy, a rejuvenating tonic for the harried 21st century soul.
Below are some of the stalwarts of Warakurna Artists, plus George Ward Tjungarrayi who, along with Neville Mcarthur, is now in aged care and part of Warakurna's outreach program for Elders.
All paintings are accompanied by a Warakurna Artists certificate of authenticity.
